Tamarack Rentals would love to have you spend your Maine vacation time in the Saco Beach an Kennebunkport area. As you walk along the Atlantic shoreline, you cannot help but notice how clean and pristine the beaches are. The water is clear, and the sights are spectacular; nature at her best. We aim to provide you with the perfect rental cottage for your Maine vacation.

We offer a wide array of Saco/Old Orchard Beach/Kennebunkport vacation rentals; something for every taste and price range. Some homes are more rustic in nature, while others offer that special touch of modern elegance. Some have the ocean right at their doorstep, others are nestled within the trees or overlook an inlet waterway. No matter what mood you are looking for, you can find it in the Saco Bay  or Kennebunkport beach areas of Maine.

Staying in the Saco Bay area? Once you get settled in, there’s lots to do. Need some rest and relaxation? Hit the beach, relax, and feel the gentle ocean breeze. If it’s casual sightseeing you’re looking for, why not go to the Camp Ellis Beach area. Walk along the streets, browse in the gift shop, and enjoy a delightful meal. If you feel like fishing, bring your pole and take a walk along the jetty which extends out into Saco Bay for almost a mile. If the fish aren’t biting that day, you can buy fresh fish or lobster right from the pier or enjoy a fish dinner at one of the restaurants. Walk the streets of historic Ocean Park and visit the shops of this more than one-hundred year old summer community. In Ferry Beach the Quillen offers summer long educational conferences. For ecology experience enjoy the guided tours conducted by the park rangers at Ferry Beach State Park or bike the Saco Trails system. Kayak the Saco River. Relax in the upscale Bay View beach area.

Staying in the Kennebunkport area? There is lots to do here as well. Walk along the beautiful and pristine coastline.  There are so many wonderful restauarants and specialty boutiques and shops in the area. You must check out Dock Square!

Lane: 10 Main Ave., Saco, Maine

Walk to the pier to buy your fresh “from the boat” lobster or fish from the mile long breakwater or go parasailing over Saco Bay. Rent a kayak, jet ski, charter a sailboat, or eat at one of the famous local restaurants to finish your Camp Ellis Vacation. From the beach tonight, look for the “red flasher” which was not there in 1616 to warn Dr. Vines of sharp rocks at the end of the breakwater as he approached Winter Harbor. The guiding stars for these sailors are the same as in 1616. The 5- matted schooner Washington B Thomas going to Portland, Maine passed just off Wood Island Light on the night of June 12, 1903 where the captain’s wife was washed over the side during bad weather. Her body was recovered on the beach just down the street. The schooner then anchored at the north end of Saco Bay.  Later that night, during a gale, she dragged her anchor and was destroyed on a ledge at the north end of Saco Bay. The Washington B Thomas was launched only 2 months before in Thomaston, Maine. On foggy nights, some have claimed to have seen the Captain of the Thomas walking the beach, searching for his wife.
